I haven't stopped shooting to be honest. However, I’m not used to being a street photographer where I live because it’s so small and people do not react well to the camera at all. I get the best images during travel. I think being a 'tourist' can make getting good pictures much easier sometimes. For example, when in New York, all the working citizens are moving around in such a fast pace that they don't take notice of the one person going at a slow pace, photographing them. This degree of separation is not available at such ease in small towns such as my home town of Swansea or Derby. And there for I have had little success so far. On average I get around one decent shot per film if I’m lucky and they are not usually portfolio quality. As far as a Derby project is concerned, I also have not thought of anything solid yet. I have considered a number of ideas but I’m not sure if they will be strong enough to form a coherent project.
Thanks for the kind words and I am also lookng forward to working with you. It should be a fantastic experience. You have captured some very beautiful, good natured images. I look forward to seeing the results of your Derby project. Have you planned any work for the five days yet?
Virgil, Love the composition of your photographs, they feel so candid and personal......looking forward to Derby!
