- Biography
- I began taking photos in earnest in 1998 on a trip to Brazil. It was here that I began to document life, and to produce my first photo essays. I also got my first internship, on the picture desk at Folha de Sao Paulo.
On my return to England in 1999 I resumed full-time work, whilst keeping my photography going. In early 2000 I went to Kosovo to visit a friend. This visit strengthened my desire to become a documentary photographer.
In 2004 I was commissioned to photograph the families and friends of men held at Guantanamo Bay, resulting in an exhibition.
In 2004 I also got my second internship, with The Guardian in London.
My experience has been built up whilst always having a full time job outside of photography.

- In addition to my photography I teach EFL English. Combining teaching with photography has given me a good balance to my life and gives me immense job satisfaction. I enjoy sharing knowledge and have also taught photographic workshops to refugees at Migrant Helpline. In addition, current affairs and social anthropology interest me.
