Biography
I am an American Sweden-based photojournalist primarily covering: central and eastern Europe, including the former Soviet Republics and former communist countries; western Europe; central Asia; and the Middle East, shooting breaking news, hard news and features in international affairs, political commentary, social issues, environment, health, conflict and post-conflict zones, natural disasters and travel. I have been a contract photojournalist for The Associated Press, The New York Times, International Herald Tribune, EurasiaNet and Bloomberg News. I have had images printed and posted by various U.S. and international newspapers, magazines, books and Web sites, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, Vogue Italia, LeMonde, L'Express, The International Herald Tribune, The Financial Times, The Associated Press, The Los Angeles Times, Courrier Japon, The Boston Herald, Bloomberg News, CBSNews.com, EurasiaNet, Salon.com, BBC, Museum of American Financial History and dozens of other international news publications. I am a part-time photo editor for EurasiaNet.org, a Web-based news magazine, and lead photojournalism workshops and seminars. I have extensive international work experience, having traveled to and worked in more than 40 countries in the past five years.
