Biography
David Larsen is Managing Director of Africa Media Online. A journalist and photographer by trade, David grew up in rural Zululand, South Africa. He matriculated at Hilton College, graduated from the University of Cape Town with a BA in social anthropology and environmental and geographical sciences, graduated with a DipCS and MCS from Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and founded Africa Media Online in 2000.

David’s passion, to see Africans telling Africa’s story to African and global audiences has led him to develop systems for the effective delivery of media content, develop training that ensures African media and museums professionals are keeping up with global trends and standards, and develop markets for Africa’s story.

David has been invited to speak about these issues to influential gatherings in various parts of the world.
