Hello Carl. Thank you for taking the time to send me such a detailed reply, I really appreciate this. It was interesting to hear your personal experience with Photoshelter and I will be checking the site out. Thanks again Carl.

Hi all, I have just returned from Maputo, Mozambique where I attended the launch of the World Press Photo exhibition in the city and was involved in running a workshop for Mozambican photographers. If you are interested, here is the link to my blog post about it: http://media.blogs.africamediaonline.com/2010/12/02/world-press-pho...

All the best,

David

Hello David. Thank you for your kind words. I am aware of the street photography project Now. You mean the one with submissions through Flickr. After an initial interest in the project I realised I could not keep up with weekly submissions in that it involves (in my case, using film) shooting, developing and scanning week after week as the work submitted should be new and taken under the instructions given. I would have preferred being able to mix old and new. I simply do not have the time to dedicate to it.
As for Photoshelter, I warmly recommend it. It allows for archival storage in all formats, display, selling and licensing images, and they now work with partner labs in both the States and in UK (Spectrum) to provide auto-fulfilled printing services. What's even better is that photoshelter allows for the a high level of customization as well as seamless integration with a pre-existing websites or blogs such Graph Paper Press or livebooks etc. Give the one dollar version a try and see how you like it. Im sure you will. (This is no endorsement! :-)) ) And let me know if you have questions regarding it if you do. They provide first-rate industry info and are very pro-active in upgrading functionalities etc on a regular basis to give their photographers cutting-edge information and tools. They are a dynamic company and very attentive to their customers' needs and wishes.

Check it out though it is only one example among others as it is based on one amongst many an available templates and styles.

Take care and let me know what you decide or what you think if you try it out.
Kindly,
Carl

Hello Panayiotis, I hope you are well. Agree with your comment about the portrait of Nicky Haslam very different to his public profile. Your portrait has certainly caused a lively contribution to debate about Portraiture and the Taylor Wessing Prize in the UK photo media.
Best wishes

Hello Carl - Johan. Just been looking at your post and I like your image. Have you seen the Street Photography Now project in the UK ? I have been looking at the Photoshelter site and would be interested to know what your thoughts are about the site.
Hope you are all well. David

The critic is well thoughtful.. and I liked too the James Ostrer’s subtle portrait of Nicky Haslam, Comparison his public profile, this portrait has a profound of truth himself.

Thank you David for sharing that. Found it interesting, well written and thought-provoking.
Kindly,
Carl
